„Greatest show on earth?“

Today we perform in a pre-show of Ringling Brothers, the biggest Circus of the US.

Although Circus Harmony has already performed in this Circus, Jessica is noticeable exited.

Today I became aware, that Circus Harmony might be the best youth Circus in the US. I wish I would have worked harder on my circus skills, when I see these young kids doing back flip and back tucks. (Here is the full show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8eisPuSS_c)

We have about 600 students, 70% are students with fewer opportunities. Moreover there are around 20 teachers, 4 volunteers and 3 patiently women are just busy with organizing classes and shows. As average, one teacher teaches only 1-5 students. Together we perform over 400 shows a year.

Jessica’s daughter also worked for the Ringling Bros. She was a flying human cannon ball. (You can see her act on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LA_BNFx8m2o)

After our performance we can watch with open mouths „The Greatest Show on Earth“ how the Circus calls itself. Nevertheless, more than the half places are empty. Everything has more the character of a kitschy musical with all this technic specials and show dances. Nonetheless, some acts are breathtaking. One crazy act was also being live taking. I assume half of the audience was screaming and two times close to a heart attack, because the artist stumbled 20 meters above the ground.
