This morning I got up earlier to go to River Des Peres to fill sand backs. It was nonstop raining for the last 3 days.
While the riverbed looked likewise a dry stone desert, the creek had turned into a torrent, which was threatening to wash away the bridge, if it will rise a few meters higher.
Around 100 people were waiting to help at 7 o’clock in the morning. After 30 minutes the first thousands sand bags were filled. Unfortunately, we had to wait again 30 minutes until we got new sandbags.
Houses and Highways close to St. Louis were under water. In Tower Growth Park a duck enjoyed to swim in the new credit lake. Unfortunately, 22 people died in the last days in the surprising flash floods.
